Interviewer: Namaskar Doctor Sahab! Today Mandeep Kaur, one of your patient has arrived, please tell about their disease condition and what the line of treatment was?

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Mandeep Kaur, was a patient of scleroderma. Exactly, when did you come to know about the disease?

Patient (Mandeep Kaur): I saw a video on YouTube, through that I came to know about my disease.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: No, on YouTube you came to know about me but…

Patient interrupted: No sir, through YouTube itself I came to know about my disease, before that I was not knowing anything about this.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Okay! What the symptoms you were facing?

Patient: My skin became tight and blackish along with rigid joints.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Basically, I had diagnosed them with scleroderma. Have you not visited any Doctor?

Patient: No sir we visited a lot of physicians but they were unable to diagnose it.

Interviewer: When did this problem develop?

Patient: 3 years ago.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: From where did you come?

Patient: Patiala.

Patient's attender: Patient's family was misguided by some individuals that it might be due to some poisonous insect bites.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: They approached me and narrated the same but I had diagnosed them with the scleroderma.

Interviewer: Sir, When did they approach you?

Patient: Just 1 month before.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: At that time what were the symptoms you were facing?

Patient: There was a huge pain in my legs, even not able to sit and stand, presented with twisted hands and skin rigidity.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Is the skin became soft now?

Patient: Yes Sir.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Earlier you were having a problem while standing and sitting. So, now what's your condition and will you show the viewers?

Patient: Sir now I can stand and sit comfortably without any discomfort.

Patient's attender: Previous month, she was unable to sit and stand. But now she can sit comfortably in the squad (Crossed legs).

Interviewer: Doctor Sahab, will you tell in brief about scleroderma, just to aware the viewers about the condition?

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Okay, "Sclero" means hardening and "derma" means skin. So, when the rigidity of skin happens, the condition is called 'Scleroderma'. As per modern science, it is an autoimmune disorder where our overactive immune system starts affecting the own healthy cells in the body. All this happens due to some incompatible or unwholesome foods which develop toxins in our body and leads to immune problems i.e what we call an auto immune disorder.

Interviewer: It means there are various auto immune disorders and scleroderma is one among them.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Yes, it's an auto immune disorder which affects the connective tissue and makes it rigid and shrunken, moreover, it affects externally as well as internally. Thus, hinders the flexibility, develops joint pains, and even produces wounds.

Interviewer: We have seen some marks on their hands is it because of wounds?

Patient: Yes, those marks are because of wounds.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Even some individuals complaining of bluish skin i.e. Reynolds's disease, this is because of hampered blood supply to the periphery. Further which may convert into gangrene, at that time, amputation is advised.

Patient's attender: Is it a rare disease?

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Yes, it is a rare one, infect, one in the millions will get this disease. But don't worry! In Ayurveda, all the auto-immune disorders can be categorized under Aamavata. This ama is an endotoxin which develops due to incompatible foods or wrong combination of foods for example, if milk products are consumed with fish or sour fruits (orange, lemon, etc), meals with alcohol, coke and chips, sour and sweet foods, processed foods, etc if consumed together lead to fermentation in the digestive tract further creates toxins and develops various problems such as skin disorders. Ayurveda states that eat compatible food and always eat on time. Do not eat artificial food only give preference to natural food.

Interviewer: Sir as they told within 1 month they got so much relief, so please tell which medicines were prescribed by you?

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: In actual, Aamavata is considered as rheumatoid arthritis, which is an auto immune disorder of the joints, on the contrary, here we had correlated scleroderma to amavata i.e auto immune disorder of the skin. So, here the treatment plan of scleroderma as per Ayurveda goes the same as that of Aamavata. But the thing is, along with joints, we are given treatment for the skin.

Interviewer: Sir please show the prescription.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: I had prescribed Kaishore Guggul (for skin problems), Rumogin (amavata – for joint pains), Manjishtha (provides lustier to the skin), Gandhak rasayan (brings softness). I had advised them for 2 months. In fact, the patient has not taken the medicines for sufficient time. No problem, then also improvement is seen. How much improvement you have seen?

Patient: More than 25 % in a month.

Patient's Attender: I have also learned a bit about Ayurveda, but initial I offended to reach anybody just by seeing the videos on WhatsApp. But they approached you. I had shown your prescription to another Doctor and she replied - medicines are fine and you can proceed and give a try. But only the medicines are costly.

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Often patients used to say that our medicines are costly but patients get relief from it, even just by using them for 1 month. On the other hand, compare this to other systems of medicines your treatment goes on up to 2 years, 3 years and so on. You are taking medicines for a long time and then the cost will be the same. But the time matters, if you really think so then it's cheaper than any other treatment. One more question arises why our medicines are costly? You know our medicines are also registered in Canada Health Department. We export the same medicines on the same price to India, Canada, Europe, and other many countries. We will only get these registrations if the products are authentic, and we are utilizing the same product which we are exporting. So, the quality and authenticity are the same, we are not compromising with it and this the reason behind it.

Patient: Sir I was not able to sit in Ac, but now I can sit comfortably.

Interviewer: How much time it will take to cure scleroderma with Ayurvedic medicines?

Dr. Vikram Chauhan: Minimum it will take 6 months to 1 year. We also shot another video of a patient, who had scleroderma. Watch that video, the patient was in very serious condition but after treatment patient is now fit and fine. There were also many other patients but now they are fine after taking medicines from here. I just want to explain a bit about the diet. You should completely avert the use of milk and milk products, sour fruits such as lemon, orange, etc. Even you should avoid these things in other Skin diseases as well. Moreover, these medicines are also useful in other skin disorders such as Psoriasis, eczema, dermatitis, urticaria, etc. Basically all are Pitta Pradhan diseases.

Interviewer: Thank You, Sir for giving your precious time. Thanks a lot.
